Travellers Car Insurance Review

Travellers Car Insurance, also known as TCI, is one of the ideal ways that many people have chosen to insure their car when they are travelling or backpacking. This company serves mostly tourists, overseas students and non-residents with third party cover to make sure they will be able to be protected against expensive claims against them.

Seeing the amount you will be protected for, I was actually quite shocked to see that you can claim up to is $10,000,000. This includes Third Party Vehicle Damage and Third Property Damage.

The only disadvantage with this plan though is that it only covers the policy holder, which is likely to be you, and any other named drivers that you have listed in your policy, which unfortunately only goes up to five, but still I think it is a fair number. These five names can also be changed after your policy has been bought, but according to their customer’s policy, there is a $20 administrative fee that you must pay. Also, one very important to remember is that TCI does not cover for damages to your car, theft, or bodily injuries.

Pushing that aside, I was pretty much content with the quotes. A policy can be taken out from three months, all the way to a year, and the price only ranges from a few hundred dollars which I thought was very affordable. Excesses are also quite fair. I was able to come across a table that showed the excess that distinguished the excess by age group and driving experience. I went through the FAQ and one unexpected thing I found out is that policies are not renewable.

I know besides the insurance itself, the next thing most people are concerned about is making a claim. I was quite happy with the way how this company works because all you need to do is to download their claim form, fill them up with any extra documents to prove your case, and then send them all to them.

Ouch Insurance Review

Ouch Insurance is part of the crowd of online insurers that claims to be able to provide cheaper travel insurance. In this case, Ouch especially mentioned that the price will be pain-free, which I thought was a witty way to put it.

Before going any further, the first thing to note is that only international journeys are able to be insured. I came to this conclusion after arriving to their Policy Insurance page and was only showed a list of international plans. However despite this drawback, the plans are actually pretty decent.

My favourite product in their portfolio is their Premier Plus Extras Travel Plan. You can take out this plan if you are going to USA, Canada and Antarctica. One very intriguing to know too is that Qantas Frequent Flyer points are also available in this plan. One policy can be taken out as either Single or Family. I was glad to see all the essentials are included such as unlimited claims on cancellation, emergency travel arrangements, medical/dental expenses and evacuations. However the one thing that stands out from the other plans is that you also get covered for funeral expenses within Australia as well as claims for total permanent disability.

The next plan after this is known as A Travel Plan, covering Continental Europe, South and Central America, Middle East, Africa and Japan. Things are pretty similar to the Premier Plus plan, except there are no coverage for funeral and TPD. The amounts you can claim for the other things are also identical too, and if there are any differences in claim amounts, they are just a few thousand/hundred dollars, depending what the benefits are.

The B Travel Plan is the minimum cover for UK, Asia and Tahiti. One difference in this product is that hospital compensation is a few thousand dollars less than the mentioned plans, as well as travel delays and accidental death. However don’t let the lower claim put you down, because considering the amount you can still claim, they would be perfect for anyone heading to UK, Asia or Tahiti.

Finally, C Travel Plan was designed for people heading to the Pacific Region and Indonesia, basically countries close to home.. Even though it is the lowest cover, the benefit levels are still quite high. To prove this point, the amount you can claim for accidental death is $20,000 for Family and $10,000 for Singles.

Regardless where you are going, as long as you are heading outside of Australia, there is no doubt that you will be able to get the coverage you need under the right price.

Honda Insurance Review

Honda Insurance is offered by one of the most popular car brands in the world. In this review we will have a look at all the benefits included in their portfolio and see how they can help you.

But before going any further, the things that Honda made very clear is that you will be able to get a new car replacement if your car gets damaged in a total loss. The thing to note though is that to be eligible for this claim, your car must be within three years of its original registration date.

Another thing that made me very intrigued is that you are guaranteed to transfer any No Claim Bonus you may have from your former insurer. This means your good deeds are not forgotten. Lastly, all the parts used to repair your vehicle are sure to be genuine parts, meaning you will be able to get a peace of mind you will be given a quality service.

There are actually a number of insurance plans offered by Honda.

In their comprehensive cover, I would impressed to see an extensive list of benefits that I believe can prove to be very attractive for drivers. For example, you will be covered for damages and physical loss, even if they were accidental. You also get to enjoy claims on towing, trailer and caravan cover, as well as emergency repairs. But the thing that really caught my eyes is that personal effects and clothing are also covered, but the best thing about it is that these items can belong to you, your partner, or even of your children.

One popular insurance that many people take out is tyre and rim insurance. As the name suggests, you are able to have your tyres and wheels insured, but that’s not all. The great thing about this policy offered by Honda is that you can claim up to $800 per tyre if you take out a Prestige cover. As you can see, this amount is beyond sufficient and would surely be able to repair or buy you a new tyre/rim. The other type of cover you can take out is known as Standard.

The third policy I would like to bring your attention to is loan protection insurance. This can be for both individual and businesses, however we will be only look at the products for individual. Basically, if you ever become disabled, die, or become involuntary unemployed, your policy will be able to continue to pay off your loan so that you will be able to keep your car.

Besides the above, Honda Insurance offers several more products. You can see them on their website.

NLC Insurance Review

NLC is a financing company made especially for cars. Judging by what I can see, they have dedicated their time since 1990 to satisfy the unique car needs of Australians. With just a quick scan over their website I could see they provide financing and insurance, among many other things.

I was also surprised to see that they offer a long list of products beyond the common comprehensive policy.

The first, as stated, is known as comprehensive motor car insurance. I was generally pleased with the benefits they offered such as automatic renewal that can prove to be very helpful for people that wants to remain a lifetime customer with NLC. There is also a lease payout that I thought was very great because this means when your car is in a total loss, you will be able to make a claim to get the money to discharge your obligation under your lease. Other protections that are included and that many people find to be important are windscreen protection, emergency repairs, as well as replacement of locks and keys.

Redundancy insurance is a product that will be able to help provide financial support when you become involuntarily unemployed. You will be able to have your monthly lease paid up to $1,500 per month, which I think should be more than enough.

On the other hand, I found the extended warranty insurance to be very helpful. This is because it offers extended cover on the electrical and mechanical components when your warranty has expired, which means you will be able to get a longer peace of mind. One very interesting thing to know is that the claim server is paperless which can be helpful to reduce stress.

I was struck to see that there is a product known as scratch and dent insurance. If getting a comprehensive cover is too much for you to handle, but you still want to have the important things covered like scratches and dents, this is the policy that I can see would be great for you. The claim you can make goes up to a massive $600 for each claim, which I thought was a lot. But most importantly, you are able to claim up to $4,000 over the policy period.

Similarly, the other product in NLC’s portfolio that I thought could be very useful is the tyre and rim insurance. The biggest advantage is that you are covered for the repair or replacement for your tyres and wheels when they are damaged accidentally. The amount you can claim up to is $4,000.

Just by going through the points above, I can already see how NLC Insurance will be able to benefit you. If you want to be with a firm that already has expertise in cars, you know which one to choose.

People’s Choice Credit Union Insurance Review

What a colourful website People’s Choice Credit Union has! I moved onto their insurance information page and was again hit with many colourful designs. But besides that point, I was generally happy with all the covers offered by them as they are all products we can all relate to.

Home and Contents Insurance is something we all need, and I am happy to see that this is offered. Through experience, the features that I know are going to be very helpful included are flood cover (which is automatically covered, I should add), natural disasters, theft, glass breakage, and even lets you protect the contents of your visitors up to the value of $5,000.

And for people that don’t mind paying a bit more so that they can get the peace of mind they need, there are also optional additional covers that you can take out. They include accidental loss/damage, and increase coverage limits on valuables.

In my opinion, the best part has got to be the fact that you will be entitled for a discount if you are over the age of 50. I think this is a great way to encourage the older folks to purchase a policy.

Next, I was stunned that three different vehicles can be insured under their vehicle insurance category. They include cars, caravans and boats. Regarding the car insurance, I was impressed to see that you are covered for one free windscreen per year on all comprehensive policies, car hire, locks and keys, as well as coverage for baby capsules and trailer. The reason why I think these features are so good is because in a lot of other insurers, these features need to be taken out as extras, which can end up being quite expensive.

The thing I’ve learnt is that your persona life will also be secured as well with travel, mortgage repayment, life and health insurance. I think the most common one would be travel insurance and was impressed to see that if you are already a member of People’s Choice, you will automatically be entitled for a 20% discount on your policy. And believe me, this is a lot. In regards to the things you are covered for, they include all the normal stuff, including things I was surprised to see like camera and video equipment, and also missed connections.

Furthermore, if you have a business, you may also find the business insurance plans offered useful. You can find out more on their website.

My Cover Insurance Review - Travel

My Cover is a quick and very recommendable travel insurance that lets customers obtain quotes and policies online. I was impressed by the way they listed all their different coverage directly on their website with plenty of explanations beside them. I thought it was very informative that they are able to provide such details straight out.

Individual pages were also available that showed further information. In my opinion, the protection offered by My Cover is great for anyone going overseas, travelling within Australia, as well as people that are wishing to get affordable policies.

The plan with the highest protection and the one I would definitely take out is the comprehensive international plan. As I can see, the cover starts at the time you leave your home, and the time you return your home, which is pretty much reasonable. In terms of the actual cover, it can be bought by Single, Duo and Family, which is good because this includes everyone. I was very pleased with the amount of cover because all of them were pretty high. For example, those that caught my eyes are up to $100,000 for additional expenses, $20,800 for loss of income, and $10,000 for alternative transport expenses. Seeing all these great features, I honestly think your time overseas will be guaranteed to be secured.

If you are deciding to stay in Australia and spend your time away at home, the plan for you is known as Australia Only. It contains a lot less benefits than the comprehensive plan; however it does include unlimited cancellation fees and lost deposits. Again, it can be bought in Single, Duo and Family. In my opinion, the limits for the other features are also pretty high as well, including up to $50,000 for accidental death and $5,000,000 for personal liability.

Now for the very interesting plan, I was intrigued by the name Budget Cover. Having a closer look, I learned that contain three features; three important and essential features, I should add, that should always be included. If you are someone that wants to save on travel insurance and only get the things you need, this plan would definitely be able to save you money. The coverage includes overseas emergency medical assistance, hospital expenses and personal liability.

To finish, the other plan you would likely expect is Frequent Traveller plan. As you may have guessed, the benefits are very similar to a single comprehensive. The main advantage of this plan is that you are able to take unlimited journeys a year as long as each trip is less than 37 days for leisure travels, and 90 days for business travels.
