Unlike other companies, the unique aspect about Latrobe Health Services is that they have an option to join without the need for paper. This means you won’t have to worry about filling in forms. The advantage of this means you will be able to get a cover easily without the need to worry about the placement of your documents.
Similar to most health funds, the products offered are pretty much expected. The only different though is that they are categorised by life stages.
The life stage with the most protection is Family. There are options that you can either take out hospital or extras. Looking through what was offered, I was amazed with the features inside the Family Top Hospital plan. Coverage in this plan includes day procedures, rehab, major surgery, private/shared room and many more. In my opinion these are all great features that would surely come as helpful. For more things, you can also get Extras.
The next life stage under Family is Couples. Again, I thought the highest plan was the most attractive. The things included are pretty similar to the Top Hospital Plan in the Family plan, except the price may be different. The important things that couples may be interested in are things like assisted reproductive service which is great for couples looking to have children. There are also some very useful things like 365 accommodating cover.
The third life stage is fitted under Singles. For those that are unsure, this plan is made for one person. This person can be living alone or with someone else, such as their parents.
On another note, I also saw the offering of travel insurance. I thought it was great that a health insurer would be offering such product since in most cases our health can have the most impact when we are away from home. I was glad to see that international, domestic and annual multi trips can be covered. Also, it seems the policies will be offered by QBE, a company they have partnered with.
