On Tour Insurance Review - Travel
On Tour’s product portfolio contains three different policies, intended for people traveling within Australia, internationally, as well as for those over the age of 70.
The plan that stood out to me the most is the international plan. But first of all, I should be clear that this plan is also known as the Frequent Travellers Aged Under 70 Years. So as the name implies, it is only available for people under the age of 70.
Policies can be bought out as single cover, family cover, or an annual multi trip plan. The benefits include unlimited cancellation fees, overseas medical and emergency expenses, which are pretty common. However some of the things that I found to be very unique were Home help, Financial default and Travel agent fees. These are things I have not seen before and thought would surely be very handy if something bad was to occur.
In regards to the domestic plan, again it is only for travellers below the age of 70. Single and Family cover can be taken out. The downside to this plan compared to the first plan is that it does not have any unlimited features, but considering that this policy was made for domestic trips, you wouldn’t really need any unlimited features anyway. Some of the features that I were very impressed though were luggage protection with a limit of up to $6,000, special events protection of up to $4,000, and many more.
And lastly, the third plan is the one made for traveller over 70 year old. To why this is the case remains a mystery to me, but in my opinion it probably has something to do with the higher risks matured travellers can attract, and therefore by separating the plans, policies would be able to be cheaper.
I thought it was very beneficial that this plan covers international travel, and contains things very similar to a single international plan. Examples of benefits are legal liability, rental vehicle excess and travel delays.
So no matter if you are going to Canada, Czech Republic, Finland, Malaysia, Korea, Italy or even the United States, On Tour is a company that you can surely rely on.
