For those that do not know, the whole point of health insurance is to be able to have access to several services and products at a lower cost as the health insurer would be able to pay them for you. There are currently four different hospital and extras health plans available from AHM, which I found to be quite interesting.
The starting plan is Lite Cover. If you are looking for the cheapest option and get up to $750 worth of cover, this would be the plan for you. You are able to get access to dental, chiro, physio and osteo services. In my view, this is great for singles and also couples that want to avoid paying tax and only make claims on basic features.
The second plan above the first is known as Lite Cover Plus. It is only a few dollars dearer than the first, which isn’t too bad; however you will be able to receive up to $1,000 worth of cover. The two extra services besides the ones already mentioned in the Lite Cover that you will have access to are optical and alternative therapies. This plan is perfect for people that want to avoid tax and get something a bit more than their entry level plan.
Standing Cover only starts at around $22 a week. This is when we get serious with people that really want to make sure they have access to all the things that matters to them. The maximum amount of cover you are entitled for is still $1,000 however you also open the doors to receive heart extras. This is a very recommendable product for anyone that wants to make sure they get the best out of life.
The fourth and top cover is frankly known as Mid Cover. You can be sure that coverage would be solid and offers everything one would possibly need. It includes everything mentioned from the previous plans, as well as podiatry and major dental work. According to AHM’s website, this was specially tailored for older singles and couples, and even families.
If getting hospital and extras is not what you are looking for, you can alternatively choose one of the Hospital Cover or Extras Cover plans. There are also two covers known as First Step designed for singles and couples with children, and Ambulance Cover.
