RSPCA Insurance Review - Pet

RSPCA Insurance is owned by the animal welfare organisation that we are all aware of. Policies offered by them are from Hollard Australia, one of the most trusted firms in the world. Seeing this fact truly gives you the peace of mind that you will be able to rely on their service.

Before you take out pet insurance, you need to be aware of what animals are eligible. I found out that any cat or dog can applied as long as they are between eight weeks and nine years old. However, one your pet is accepted, they will be able to be protected even when they are passed that age group. To why this is the case is something I am not quite sure.

Four different plan covers are available.

The one with the littlest protection is RSPCA Basic Accidental Only Cover. The most you can claim a year is $7,000 and is only for accidents only, such as injuries. The benefit percentage is 80%. The downside is that you will not be covered for illnesses and will not give you access to routine care benefits. In my view, this is a great plan to take out if you are only concerned about your pets getting hurt because it is affordable and minimum.

For the plan that also includes illness c overage, RSPCA Economy Accident & Illness Cover is the one for you. One thing that I noticed is that the maximum yearly benefit in this plan is raised up to $11,000, however the benefit percentage you can claim is 75%, 5% less than the other plans. But on the good side, you are able to have access to paralysis tick benefit.

The most comprehensive plan for all those animal lovers is RSPCA Ultimate Accident & Illness Cover. The protection is very similar to the others, but with greater limits. You are also given the opportunity to benefit from routine care, for either de-sexing, micro-chipping, declaw removal, health checks and several others.

Something I know a lot of people are concerned about is waiting periods. The thing that really interested me is that all of the waiting periods for cruciate ligament for each of the plans can be waived. However the 30 day period for illness conditions still remains.

If RSPCA seems like something you would want to consider, I saw that on their website you are able to get a free information pack. You may want to utilise this feature and see if RSPCA Insurance is the right pet insurer for you.
