Kango Cover Insurance Review - Travel

Did you know that more and more people are turning onto the internet to get cheaper travel insurance? One such companies is Kango Cover. Basically, Kango Cover is able to let you save money by selling their policies directly to you from their website and call centre. The important bit is that they are underwritten by Allianz, one of the most reputable brands in Australia, and the best part is that you are able to get such quality insurance without the big cost.

I decided to do a test quote to see how much I will be able to save and was surprised that the total premium costed about $30 less than another traditional insurer that I also obtained a quote from.

According to their website there are six different levels of cover available. The first categories of policies are named after Australian animals, which I found to be rather quirky. They are Joey, Rock Wallaby, Wallaby, Eastern Grey and Big Red. They all seem to be single trip covers, available to be purchased by single, duo and family customers.

The most basic cover is Joey and offers only the essential coverage like medical and personal liability. As I can see, it is a budget plan for those people that wants to only get enough protection to let them stay away from serious health issues. If you think this is not enough, which I certainly think so, you may want to decide to move up to the other levels.

The highest cover is the Big Red plan. It features comprehensive coverage for things like return airfare, hospital cash allowance, delays and even travel services provider insolvency. The claims limit are also much more higher, great for those people that wants to get a peace of mind.

The other category of cover is known simply as Annual Multi Trip. For those that do not know, this kind of policy was designed to fit the needs of frequent travellers that requires travelling multiple times a year. The thing that really impressed me is the fact that it is almost exactly the same as the Big Red cover in terms of features and limits. But most importantly, you can be sure that it will be cheaper than if you were to purchase a Big Red policy every time you go away.

If you ever need help, one thing worth pointing out is that you need to actually contact Allianz. It seems to me that Kango Cover is just another name for Allianz travel insurance. This goes for the same if you are making a claim.
