Webjet Insurance Review

Webjet Insurance is travel insurance offered by one of the biggest online travel comparison websites in Australia. I am sure the majority of the readers will have tried Webjet at least once in their lives when looking to find cheap flights and hotels. However one thing you may not know is that Webjet also offers insurance.

To get to their insurance page, you must first go to the Webjet website and then click on the link to insurance. I actually found it to be very easy to use because as soon as the new page opened, I was instantly given the form to get a quote and apply. All I had to do was enter details about where I am going, who is going, and then select the coverage.

There are currently five different covers. The best thing about them is that their prices are automatically shown while, not after, you select your policy.

If you are someone that is on a tight budget and only need the minimum required amount of protection, you are able to choose Trip Cancellation and Luggage Protection. With this cover, cost was only about $17 and only offers what the plan name implies. In my opinion, even though it is cheap, it may not be enough. This is why I suggest people getting another cover. Another low budget cover is known as Medical and Personal Liability only. It provides unlimited emergency medical expenses, with several other health covers and liability.

If on the other hand, you want to get more coverage, it is suggested you can either Comprehensive or Essentials. The reason to why I am saying this is because I really loved all the things they offered. For example, in terms of their comprehensive cover, you are able to get unlimited claims on cancellation fees, lost deposits, and medical expenses. There are also other features with high claim limits like theft, delays, death, hospital cash allowance and luggage and personal effects. What really amazed me is that additional expenses can be claimed up to $50,000.

Lastly, if you are travelling several times in a year, there is also the option to get Multi Trip insurance. If you think about it, it is more worthwhile than buying a separate plan every time you go away. The only things that I saw as a downside though is that you can’t choose your excess and several things are also not covered like death, loss of income, theft and delays.
